Utah Elks Association donated $5,000 to the Salt Lake City School District Special Education Department to help purchase three sound systems and two specialized tablet computers. to land in a city park on Veterans Day. Schoolchildren were then invited to visit the helicopter during the three- hour period it was on display.


Keizer, OR, Lodge members delivered Christmas food boxes to 50 families of deployed military personnel and 125 other families. Each box contained more than 86 pounds of food.


Newport, OR, Lodge made a $1,000 donation to the state major project, the Elks Children’s Eye Clinic at the Casey Eye Institute.


In other news, the lodge held its annual Community Christmas Dinner and provided 370 people with a meal. Lodge members provided more than 180 dinners on a take-out and delivery basis. The lodge was assisted by Newport Nazarene Church.


Portland, OR, Lodge donated 25 baskets of food and more than 1,000 toys to the 141st Brigade Support Battalion of the Oregon Army Na- tional Guard to be given to needy families of national guardsmen.


Salem, OR, Lodge, using part of a $2,000 ENF Promise Grant, held a Shop with an Elk event for 28 foster children and their foster parents. Lodge members provided the children

Bedford, VA, Lodge donated six boxes of food to the Bedford Christian Ministries food pantry. The food was donated at the lodge’s Christmas Social Gala. and their foster parents with snacks and then gave each child a $25 gift card to go shopping at a retail store.


Bellefonte, PA, Lodge held its annual Senior Thanksgiving Dinner and provided about 80 senior citizens with a meal. Attendees were also given door prizes and the opportunity to enjoy a performance by a magician. In other news, the lodge held a Christmas Eve Holiday Prize Give- away fund-raiser and raised $825 for the Elks National Foundation.


Bristol, PA, Lodge members gave gift cards to 24 needy families to buy presents for their children. The total value of the cards was $3,000.


Carlisle, PA, Lodge donated nearly 1,500 pounds of food and clothing to Project SHARE to be given to needy area families.


Erie, PA, Lodge held a Jamboree fund-raiser and raised more than $30,000 for the state major project, the Pennsylvania Elks Home Service Program, which provides in-home therapy to children with special needs.


Leechburg, PA, Lodge held a Christ- mas Party for 75 children. Among the


attendees were children and grand- children of Elks and needy children who lodge members personally invited. The children were given refreshments and enjoyed a sing-along and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, who gave each child a bag of treats.


Sayre, PA, Lodge donated a check for $250 and a large number of toys to the Christmas Is for Kids toy and fund drive, which a local radio station ran on behalf of the Salvation Army.


Sharon, PA, Lodge held a Super Kids Soapbox Derby Race for 28 children with special needs. Following the race, the lodge hosted a dinner at the lodge for the participating children and their parents.


In related news, the lodge hosted a Christmas Party at the lodge for the 28 contestants from the lodge’s Super Kids Soapbox Derby Race and their families. The party featured dinner and an appearance by Santa Claus, who gave each child a present.


Warren, PA, Lodge donated $800 to the local Knights of Columbus chapter to purchase 48 new winter coats for needy children.


Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA, Lodge donated about 175 toys and four
