Myrtle Beach, SC, Lodge held its fourth annual Christmas Party for about 40 children with special needs. The party featured food, games, sing-alongs, and other entertainment. The children also visited Santa, who gave each child the stuffed toy animal of his or her choice. Pictured with Santa (PER Charles Cashion) is young guest Heather.


lodge also donated $360 to USO North Carolina to support the USO facility at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, which provides a place for traveling military personnel and their families to relax. Funds for the donations came from a Monte Carlo Night fund-raiser that the lodge held jointly with North Carolina Vietnam Veterans, Inc.


Statesville, NC, Lodge held a Christ- mas Dinner fund-raiser and raised more than $1,000 for the family of two-year-old Emma Thompson, who was badly burned in a house fire. Lodge members also provided the Thompson family with a meal.


Fargo, ND, Lodge held a Christmas Party for 94 people with special needs who reside in group homes. Lodge members provided guests with lunch and a visit with Santa, who gave each guest a gift.


Middletown, OH, Lodge members gave Thanksgiving boxes to 19 families of deployed US military personnel. Each box contained enough food for a full Thanksgiving dinner.


Van Wert, OH, Lodge donated $500 to the local branch of the Civil Air Patrol to help it purchase winter boots and gear packs for cadets. Lodge members

Grapevine, TX, Lodge, with the help of a $2,000 ENF Promise Grant, donated 30 bicycles, 22 large stuffed toy animals, and more than 150 other toys to the Grapevine Police Department’s Cops for Santa Program, which assists needy local families at Christmastime. The donations were made at the lodge’s Children’s Christmas Party. also honored Civil Air Patrol Cadet Airman Courtney Byrd and Sgt. Anthony Sandefe for their service to the patrol and presented each of them with a certificate.


In other news, the lodge made a donation of $125 to the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio.


Washington Court House, OH, Lodge members assisted a needy family by providing them with a full Christmas dinner and giving gifts to the chil- dren.


Xenia, OH, Lodge donated about 20 Christmas gifts each to the Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County and the Kettering Health Network to be given to children at the two facilities. The lodge also donated two barrels of nonperishable food to the local food pantry.


Claremore, OK, Lodge, with the help of a local motorcycle club, held its 11th annual Toy Run. More than 220 motorcycle riders participated in the event, and lodge members used the proceeds of the run to hold a Christ- mas Party. At the party, 94 children and 72 adults enjoyed lunch, and lodge members gave each child several toys. The children received a total of more than 250 toys during the event.


Shawnee, OK, Lodge members delivered Christmas boxes to 150 needy families. Each box contained food for a full Christmas dinner.


Tulsa, OK, Lodge held a Christmas Party for 75 children who were members of local youth organizations and their families. During the event, guests enjoyed a performance by the South Tulsa Children’s Ballet, and lodge members gave each child in attendance a Christmas wreath to decorate. The children also enjoyed a visit with Santa, who gave each child several gifts.


Gateway (Portland), OR, Lodge members distributed dictionaries to more than 820 third-grade students at eight elementary schools.


Independence, OR, Lodge sponsored the City of Independence’s Santa Train event. Lodge members arranged for Santa Claus to arrive on a train during the event and visit more than 500 children. Each child had his or her photo taken with Santa and received the photo the following week. The lodge also provided hot cocoa to all of the children and adults who attended the event.


In other news, the lodge, with the help of the Lions Club, arranged for an Oregon Air National Guard helicopter
