CARTRIDGE TYPE CIRCULATORS

The Taco 006 cartridge circulator is designed for use in circulation of hot and chilled fresh water in open and closed loop

applications. The 006 can be used for domestic hot water recircu- lation, heat recovery units, water source heat pumps, drain-down open loop solar systems and potable water systems. The unique replaceable cartridge contains all the movable parts, and allows the circulator to be serviced instead of replacing the entire unit. The 006 is self lubricating, contains no mechanical seal, and requires no maintenance. Casing is constructed of bronze with non-metallic impeller and ceramic shaft. Available with either sweat or FPT connections. Max. pressure 125 psi, max. temperature 220°F. See performance chart for flow capacity.

Taco’s durable Red Baron™ series horizontal seal type circulators are designed to circulate heated or chilled water in residential or light commercial applications. All models feature rubber mounted motor and a smooth, flexible steel spring-type coupler, carbon and ceramic leakproof mechanical seal. Models with “B” suffix in model number are bronze construction for use in potable water sys- tems. All other models have cast iron casing. Flange mounts match companion flanges shown on page 285. All models except 120 & 120B can use 3/4 thru 1-1/2” NPT flanges; models 120 & 120B are shipped with 2” flanges. Maximum operating temperature 240°F, maximum working pressure 125 psi.

A rugged, compact circulator designed to provide long lasting, trouble-free service. Used as original equipment on Burnham, H.B. Smith, Weil-McLain and

other package boilers, the Taco 007 circulator is self lubricated by the system water and requires no maintenance. A patented stainless steel cartridge houses sealed bearings, corrosion resistant rotor, dirt barrier and stainless steel shaft. Cartridge can be replaced eas- ily without the need to replace the entire motor assembly. Can be installed with either standard or isolating flanges (ordered sepa- rately). Motor is 1/25 HP, 115v AC. CIRCULATOR PHYSICAL SIZE

Just because the circulator is a “lil-bitty” thing doesn’t mean it is insufficient to handle the requirements of a closed loop heating system. A three story row home doesn’t necessarily require a big high head pump. The height of the building may be incorrectly linked to pumping head (expressed in feet) of a pump designed for an open system. The requirements of a circulator on a closed loop system are much less. A circulator is simply creating a pressure differential and the water in a closed loop system responds to that pressure differential. Remember the difference between closed and open system requirements for circulators, or pumps.
