GAS FIRED DIRECT VENT MODULATING WATER BOILER

The UB95M-200 boiler achieves the optimum combination of high efficiency, innova- tive technology and simplicity of design making it the ideal choice for today’s heating customer. Boiler modulates from 80 to 200 MBH using advanced microprocessor controls which continuously monitor supply and return water temperature, and outdoor reset control, allowing the boiler to match the actual load. UB-95M utilizes a mono- block, drop cast aluminum heat exchanger and for most applications does not require primary/secondary piping. Digital display user interface offers real time operating diagnostics and programming information with domestic hot water priority if desired.

Features optional system piping from top or rear, optional gas piping from right or left. The UB-95M vents using 2” CPVC (provided with the boiler) transitioned to standard PVC thru termination. Intake air requires 3” PVC tubing run, reduced to 2” PVC con- nection at the boiler. Can be vented vertically, or horizontally thru sidewall. Internal condensate trap connection 1/2” PVC. Approved for installation on combustible floors.

Standard equipment: Limit control, low water cutoff, Taco circulator, pressure gauge, relief valve, air vent, service receptacle, outdoor temperature sensor, and LP conver- sion kit.

WHAT SIZE BOILER, OR FURNACE?

We are often confronted with replacing a boiler, or furnace without knowing the BTU capacity of the old boiler, or furnace being replaced. No model numbers, no name plate, nothing to indicate the BTU capacity. Well...there are some things which are on the boiler/furnace that help indicate the BTU capacity.

If it is a gas boiler, or furnace, and has long ribbon type atmospheric burners, each burner typically is rated at 25,000 BTU input. I.E.: a 4 burner, boiler or furnace would typically be rated at 100,000 BTU input, a 3 burner would be 75,000, etc. This is true for natural, or LP gas. Most of the older equipment used ribbon type, atmospheric burners. The proof is a simple check of the burner orifice size. The burner orifice size for 25,000 BTU, natural gas @ 3.5” WC will be a # 39, or # 40. The burner orifice size for 25,000 BTU, LP gas @ 11” WC will be a # 53.

If the natural gas fired equipment is operational, a simple clocking of the meter will determine the cubic ft/hour of gas burned. Multiply the cubic feet used by the capacity of natural gas of approximately 1,000 BTU/cu ft. to determine the input capacity of the equipment.
