working across marketing, planning and analysis, business process, finance, partnership relations and air operations. This summer, seven undergraduates joined the Southampton team for a ‘year in industry’ placement during the third year of their course. They have the opportunity to visit ships and play a key role in organising events for ship launches. NCL is proud that the Southampton-based passenger services department is now a ‘Centre of Excellence’. As the front face of the business, it is critical that service is delivered to the highest of standards. To help achieve this, 18 employees have been hired since January 2019 – and there will be many more openings for graduates in the future.
Melissa Renyard, partnership relations coordinator “While studying event management at Bournemouth University, I undertook a year’s internship at NCL as a partnership relations administrator. “My role enabled me to
experience many different departments in a global corporate company. A personal highlight was joining the team charged with organising the cruise celebration for the new ship Norwegian Bliss. “I also helped organise travel
agent fam visits to ships around the UK and Ireland, and travel agent roadshows across the Middle East and Africa region. “After graduating, I returned to NCL as a partnership relations coordinator for the UK/Ireland market, and I’m gaining further experience in large-scale event management, including the launch of Norwegian Encore. “I am also supporting the vice-
president, managing director and business development team within the fast-paced sales environment. “I am really happy to be back at NCL and I am excited about what the future holds.”
