The hospitality industry offers masses of career opportunities in the UK and overseas (see box, right)


Global distribution systems


The technology platforms used by suppliers, such as airlines, hotels and car hire firms, to showcase their products to travel companies


Health and safety


A crucial role ensuring the products sold by travel companies are safe and helping to train industry staff


Home-based travel agents


Also known as homeworkers, agents who work from home offices and build their own client lists or field sales calls
