Avis Budget Group is a leading global provider of mobility solutions, operating three of the most-recognised brands in the industry – Avis, Budget and Zipcar, the world’s leading car-sharing network. You will find us at the

intersection where technology meets convenience, choice and responsible living. Our brands represent a mobility ecosystem of more than 11,000 locations in some 180 countries. With more than 70 years of experience in managing global fleets, and with one of the largest fleets

of connected cars in the world, we are committed to innovation and are moving the future of mobility forward. At Avis Budget Group,

technology is quickly becoming a key influencer in everything we do. With connected and autonomous cars becoming more and more established, car rental will change dramatically over the coming years. Our recent HR transformation

is revolutionising life at Avis Budget Group, enabling us to continue to put our employees in control of their development.

As part of the transformation,

we have introduced a new learning platform, allowing us to move from face-to- face classroom training to continuous, individualised learning journeys accessible 24/7, empowering all employees to have access to learning at their fingertips. We actively encourage our

employees to publish their own bite-sized learning to the library of training videos and documents. In this way, we draw on the potential of 30,000 experts to build learning content that is relevant, accurate, on time and in the local language of the learner. The recent changes at Avis Budget Group have made learning and development simpler, smarter and faster – allowing our teams to bring their ‘A’ game every day.

“I joined Avis Budget Group as a placement student in 2016.

My job was in the international travel and partnerships team as support for the account managers. I was lucky enough to be able to join the team full time and I now manage my own accounts. I look after accounts such as dnata as well as managing the hotel portfolio and helping with airlines such as Etihad, Emirates and Qatar. I have met many amazing people in travel and could not think of a better industry to be a part of. I have a supportive team at Avis Budget Group who have encouraged me to develop and provided me with so many opportunities to further myself in my career.”

*Sophie was shortlisted for the ‘Rising Star’ award in the 2019 AWTE (Association of Women Travel Executives) awards
