You have learned many writing and speaking skills in this collection of texts. Now it’s time to Show What You Know!
My Writing Task
Write a news broadcast about a missile attack on a city. Your two concerns in this kind of writing are content and style. Content is the information which you must give. Style is how you present the story.
Success Criteria
Self-Assessment
Read your news broadcast and check what you have written against the success criteria. What do you think you did especially well? Is there anything you could do better?
Redrafting
When you are happy with it, you may decide that your news broadcast is good enough to be included in your Collection of Texts. You could then do a little more research to improve the information, read your piece aloud to check how it sounds and proof-read it until you are happy that all the details are correct.
