to explore the process of animation in film What I will learn:
PREPARE
In groups, make a list of all the animated films that you know of.
Having worked in groups to create your list, you will notice that there are lots of different types of animation.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was the first ever feature- length animated film, released in 1937 by Disney. It was created using classical 2-D sketches: every image was hand-drawn and hand-painted. If Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs were to be made today, the team of animators would be able to use computer programmes to speed up the process considerably.
Other types of animation include what is called ‘stop-motion animation’, which uses clay figures that are moved only slightly and then shot, with all the frames put together to suggest continuous movement, such as is used in the Wallace and Gromit films; or computer-animated 3-D techniques, such as in Te Polar Express.
