Henry IV Part I
A London Dad gives out to his son for his disgraceful behaviour. Harry, Prince of Wales, is heir to the throne of England. Unfortunately, he is also the black sheep of the royal family. His father, King Henry, is exasperated with Harry’s behaviour and his reputation for mixing with low-life pub crawlers around London. He has called his son to a meeting in the palace so that he can tell Harry to change his ways and make himself acceptable to the people as the future king of England.
King Henry explains how he himself was distant with his subjects and seldom seen in public. The result was that people were excited when he made his rare appearances and were in awe of him.
He compares his own gracious, dignified behaviour with the poor behaviour of the previous king, and warns Harry that he will follow in that line if he does not mend his ways.
