If you chose to write the story, read it aloud to a group of listeners as an audio story. If you chose to write the story
Success Criteria
l Read dramatically, changing your voice for different characters. You might even like to appoint other readers for different characters. They would need to see your story and rehearse their parts in advance.
l Pause when you want to create suspense. l Vary your tone of voice to engage your listeners and hold their attention. l Be sure to read slowly enough for your listeners to imagine the people and places you are describing.
l Pause briefly before the final paragraph so your listeners know that the story is about to come to an end.
Peer Assessment
After you have read your story aloud, invite your listeners to tell you two things that you did well and one thing you might do better. This will help you to redraft your work.
Redrafting
After you have practised aloud, review the success criteria to check that you have met all the requirements. Make any necessary changes, and when you are happy with it you can read it aloud again, taking on board the suggestions for improvement that were made to you.
