Seppic ‘flags link between exosome volume, efficiency’


French cosmetic active maker Seppic has claimed to demonstrate a direct link between exosome concentration and efficacy in two of its flagship ingredients. Driven by growing interest in non-


invasive cosmetic solutions inspired by aesthetic dermatology and the role of exosomes as intercellular messengers, Seppic has published new data on Celtosome Crithmum Maritimum (INCI: Crithmum Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate) and Celtosome Eryngium Maritimum (INCI: Eryngium Maritimum Callus Culture Filtrate). Developed at the Pontrieux


site in Brittany (France), Seppic’s Celtosome plant biotechnology native and undifferentiated plant cells from halophyte species. This expertise yields a pure


biomass within which the presence of


approximately 4,000 exosomes per plant cell has been quantified. This measurement ensures a


standardized concentration of 50 million plant exosomes per microlitre of active ingredient, providing a highly defined matrix to optimize skin targeting. The anti-ageing Celtosome


Eryngium Maritimum ingredient delivers 720 million exosomes per gram of formula at a recommended use level of 0.05%. Specific evaluations conducted on its isolated exosome fraction highlight


their active role in the structural support of the skin, demonstrating up to a +34%2


stimulation of Collagen I


synthesis in fibroblasts. This key biological contribution


directly participates in the performance of the global active ingredient, which also shows a +103% increase in dermal hyaluronic acid production as well as +34% in elastin. This comprehensive structural


activity translates clinically into a significant smoothing effect, measured by a 12% reduction in the surface area of crow’s feet wrinkles after 28 days of application. Dedicated to skin clarity, radiance,


and longevity applications, Celtosome Crithmum Maritimum leverages this same cellular potential, delivering 1.44 billion exosomes per gram of cream when used at 0.1%.


Gattefossé ramps up Texas production


Gattefossé has achieved globally standardised and verified production of cosmetic ingredients at its United States manufacturing facility in Texas. Five cosmetic ingredients have


now achieved manufacturing equivalency at its Lufkin site. Building on EFfCI certification for


personal care products, the Lufkin site now manufactures cosmetic ingredients according to the same quality, analytical and regulatory standards applied across Gattefossé’s global production network. Each validation is supported by


a complete technical equivalence file, including analytical validation, stability data, and regulatory documentation to ensure seamless integration into customers’


development and commercialization programmes. The five ingredients are: Emulium Mellifera MB, a


natural oil-in-water emulsifier that adapts to different skin types and environmental conditions while delivering outstanding sensory properties. Compritol 888 CG MB, a
