The organisers of NYSCC Suppliers’ Day have announced the event will be moved to November due to the ongoing global COVID-19 pandemic. The organisers said that in
order to provide a safe and high quality event, Suppliers’ Day is being moved to November 10-11, 2021 at the Javits Center in New York. A virtual day will take place on 12 November to reach the largest audience possible. Suppliers’ Day and NYSCC is planning to join forces with National SCC and Chapters across the country to create an immersive and accessible “Week of Beauty,” celebrating innovations in beauty and personal care ingredients, formulations and technologies. “NYSCC is committed to

Patent for preservative technology
Inolex has announced it has recently been granted a patent that claims multifunctional preservation systems comprising caprylhydroxamic acid (CHA) and select diols for cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceuticals. The patent claims the use of
these ingredient compositions in formulations as well as blends comprising the CHA-diol compositions. Caprylhydroxamic acid is a 100% natural and readily biodegradable chelating agent derived from coconut-sourced caprylic acid. CHA is a biostatic ingredient that provides a strong hurdle to microbial growth across a wide pH range (pH 4-8). Robust broad spectrum
protection against contamination by bacteria, yeast, and mold is achieved via combination of CHA with medium chain terminal diols, such as caprylyl glycol, glyceryl caprylate, or caprylyl glyceryl ether.

Changes to Executive Board announced
Symrise AG has made changes to its Executive Board, effective 1 April 2021. Heinrich Schaper, Executive Board member and responsible for the Flavor segment, will be retiring and leaving the Company on 31 March 2021. The Supervisory Board has decided that Dr Jean-Yves Parisot is to take over the global leadership of the Flavor segment

since 2006 and responsible for the Scent & Care segment, has decided to pursue new professional opportunities. He will therefore also leave the Company on 31 March 2021. Succession planning for the leadership of the Scent & Care segment has already been initiated. On an interim basis, the CEO of Symrise AG, Dr Heinz-Jürgen Bertram, will lead the segment.
