TP: Are there any other new programmes or committees coming down the track? JC: Yes, we are working on a collaboration with an outside organisation that we hope to announce in September in line with our sensory science event that month. It is a collaboration with an organization strong in that space. In October, we’ll revisit
rheology—a topic our members love but haven’t seen in a few years. A biotech-focused program will close the year in November.
TP: Is there anything that’s different about the NYSCC under your chairmanship? JC: Social media. I’m building on a strong foundation set by my predecessors. We’ve put together a strategy on the look and frequency of our social media posts. A key focus has been
expanding our social media committee, now led by Revathi Nair and Dejour Waite. Their team—students and
young professionals—are transforming our online presence with improved content, better imagery, and real-time event coverage. They’re at every single one of our events, taking pictures and videos and reels of every single event. Prior to our events,

there is much more social media activity now. We’ve also invested in new
equipment and training to boost our digital engagement and expand our audience.
TP: This year’s NYSCC Suppliers’ Day moves up from the lower level to the top floor, a bigger floor, at the Javits Centre in Manhattan. It wasn’t that long ago that Suppliers’ Day was in Edison, New Jersey.
JC: Yes, we only moved to the Javits in 2017. Since this move, the show has grown exponentially. It is very exciting for us to now be on the third level, known as the Crystal Palace, where the biggest shows take place at the venue. It offers a vibrant, connected
environment with greater visibility for exhibitors and better flow for attendees between our Inspiration Hive, poster showcase, and main stage sessions. Overall, it’s a location that
matches the ambition and scale of our industry.
TP: What do you think the industry will be talking about this year? What will be fresh in their minds? JC: The timing of Suppliers’ Day is ideal and that there will be lots of discussion and insight on what happened at the close of 2024 and where we are headed in 2025. Market uncertainty and the
