East Cork Sailing Youghal Sailing Club Breezes Into Winning Winds by CHRISTINE LEE Sails were up and
winds pulled through in Crosshaven over the
weekend of the 16th 17th
and of September for the
All-Ireland GP14 Youth Championships. Gliding into first place was Jack
Buttimer of Youghal Sailing Club who tack- led the competition to claim all youth titles, Un- der 21’s, Under 19’s and
Under 16’s. The cham- pionship finals were held in Cork for the first time in over a decade, a decision taken to thank
the Youghal sailors, who travel all over the coun- try for each event. 22In the Senior silver catego- ry first place was nabbed
by Youghal sailing clubs own Ed Coyne and his crew Coleman Grimes of Skerries Sailing Club. Second place in the same category went to Youghal Sailing Clubs Adrian Lee and his crew,
David Johnston from Sutton Dinghy Club. Making the
transition
from Bronze category to Silver category just this year, it is a great achieve- ment for Ed Coyne and Adrian Lee.
