and restaurateur, Michael Solomonov. The Fire & Ice perform- ance was the first food theme at Audi FEASTIVAL and allowed an ice bar and a firepit to be the platforms of culinary expres- sion for various top chefs. This year, we are introducing new performances and design elements that will wow guests, which will spotlight the real stars of the show – the artists.
Deciding how we approach Audi FEASTIVAL every year with a fresh perspective can be difficult at times. Keeping concepts fresh, staying on trend and keeping guests happy is what we strive to achieve – besides raising money!
We usually do not lead with a theme and we try to keep our overall concepts broad. They tend to naturally tie into the ele- ments that we focus on – performances, restaurant line-up and specific design elements.
One of the many facets that guests enjoy is the food and drink. We try to stay ahead of the curve by always including the hottest and most notable restaurants in our culinary ros- ter. It also is helpful that chefs and restaurateurs enjoy partic- ipating in Audi FEASTIVAL. In fact, this has become much more of an industry event where chefs attend and become part of this dynamic party.
Audi FEASTIVAL has become a special platform for chefs and restaurateurs to debut a new restaurant or menus, execute dishes not done in their own establishments, use interesting or seasonal ingredients, and use trendy or creative cooking techniques. It has become an event where the chefs can become as creative as the organization it supports.
Staying ahead of trends, understanding the evolving culinary landscape in Philadelphia and beyond, and providing alterna- tive ways to create custom packages for sponsors are ways we keep the Audi FEASTIVAL brand fresh every year.
Having access to a professional artists and restaurant part- ners is always helpful, but in order to really understand the entirety of Audi FEASTIVAL, we seek input from everyone involved – from all aspects of the event. We seek feedback from sponsors, chefs, volunteers and guests. We take this feedback into consideration and find ways to improve areas where needed, but also find ways to take that improvement up two notches.
We don’t want to just improve. We want to wow our guests when they return.
Audi FEASTIVAL is not your typical sit-down gala. While it is a fundraising event, it also is a big party that celebrates the Philadelphia cultural community. Audi FEASTIVAL, hailed “the party of the year,” is meant to provide an unusual artistic experience that speaks to the creativity of the beneficiary - FringeArts.
