Relationships are everything. Creating a relationship with planners, hotels and destinations will help make your job so

much easier. Amy Sites, Destination Gettysburg

In 2016, the Wintergarden Maze, which is a collaboration of 30 public gardens in the Philadelphia area, became the newest addition to Dilworth Park. Its col- orful lights and topiaries accented the maze and was a festive location for an outdoor cocktail party, dessert station or a photo op.

For those lucky enough to attend a meeting in December, during a break they could browse and shop in the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market. Last year, there were over 40 vendors who offered everything from crafts and candles to handmade hats, gloves and holiday gift items.

Groups who choose to engage in these opportunities “create memories and lasting bonds among participants,” explains Anello. “These experiences give the participants something to talk about the next time they get together."

"Experiential meetings are becoming a part of the conference programs, as well,” she continues. “Incorporating inter- active breakout spaces in unique out- door locations such as pocket parks like John F. Collins at 17th and Chestnut Streets provides attendees with a break from windowless ballrooms and flores- cent lights."

Through locations such as these offering experiential activities as part of team bonding, planners can engage attendees with new and exciting opportunities that not only will bring them closer, but create among them cherished, long-lasting memories, as well.
