home to more than 20,000 fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles and marine ani- mals dwelling in award-winning habi- tats. It promises planners an exhilarat- ing event experience.

“The National Aquarium makes an event a destination,” declares Corey Frier, event specialist for the property. “Imagine an Indo-Pacific reef as the backdrop for a reception, or dinner by the dolphins. Consider exploring a touch tank full of moon jellies with co- workers. These activities are the mark of an unforgettable venue.”

Blue Wonders, the name of the main aquarium building, is highlighted by four levels of exhibits that can be viewed during events. It includes Shark Alley and a hands-on Living Seashore experience. Pier 4 pavilion is home to Dolphin Discovery and the Jellies Invasion. Smaller events are hosted in the Harbor View Room, which provides guests with sweeping Inner Harbor views.

One of the most memorable events at the aquarium was held by a web design firm, recalls Frier. “To celebrate the com- pletion of a large-scale project, the com- pany hosted a spirited sea-themed cos- tume party for a group of 75 people. We also hold holiday events for repeat clients that feature singular food sta- tions throughout the selected space for up to 800 guests. The aquarium is great venue for weekend events.”

Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau is the point of origin for a treas- ure trove of event ideas. “We have so many unusual and wonderful venues throughout the Brandywine Valley,” asserts Courtney Babcock, CCCVB sales manager. “There are excellent matches for whatever a planner aspires to do. We have art museums, historical sites, winer- ies, gardens and so much more.”

Babcock proposes Longwood Gardens for its beautiful setting, and suggests mounting an event on its Conservatory Fern Floor.
