2017 Audi FEASTIVAL

Thursday, September 28, 2017 www.phillyFEASTIVAL.com

Moving into its eighth year, Audi FEASTIVAL has become a signature culinary and per- forming arts event in the city of Philadelphia, impressing guests with contemporary per- formances and sophisticated food and drink.

Audi FEASTIVAL first was introduced in 2009 as a small-scale fundraising effort with the goal to raise money for FringeArts. Since its infancy, Audi FEASTIVAL has strived to pro- vide a unique fundraiser that brings together business, cultural and culinary communi- ties while spotlighting the amazing work presented by FringeArts. This experimental event quickly transformed into a culinary and arts powerhouse with a solid revenue stream – helping to build the groundwork behind FringeArts’ new home on the Delaware River waterfront.

FringeArts, a not-for-profit arts organization, is a leader in innovative live arts, providing a dynamic platform for local, national and international artists. It masterfully curates thought-provoking performances that challenge the artists as well as the guests they perform for in its gorgeous theater space.

When Audi FEASTIVAL planning is underway, FringeArts looks to its own creative part- ners for inspiration. Each year we introduce new performance elements and also invite recurring artists from prior years. A Fringe Festival favorite, Brian Sanders’ JUNK will return to Audi FEASTIVAL this September. A choreography mastermind, Sanders and his company, JUNK, blend traditional dance theater with an inventiveness and physi- cality that is praised throughout the city. Also returning is Circadium, the country’s only certified circus school, who will weave aerialists and acrobats into the event.

While we retain some fan favorite performances on the roster, we also understand the importance of keeping things fresh and the need to focus on introducing new and inno- vative entertainment every year. In 2016, muralist Juan DiMida produced a digital and interactive live painting onto the car of FEASTIVAL’s title and long-time sponsor, Audi. A Fire & Ice theme was introduced and curated by James Beard Award winner, chef
