Team Building Through the Arts
Valley Forge and Montgomery County is an ultimate meetings destination and now the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board will assist companies to engage with the arts and each other.
Abington Art Center Abington Art Center sits on 27-acres that showcase sculptures and environmentally- conscious works of art. The center curates art exhibits year-round throughout the grounds and inside the galleries, located in historic Alverthorpe Manor. When it comes to team building, the center offers a variety of workshops exploring everything from the culinary arts to plein air painting, jewelry making, and mindfulness.

Or try a more leisurely art or ceramics class to foster creativity. The staff will work to devel- op a program for companies and offers plen- ty of gallery or studio spaces for additional workshops or meetings.

“AtlantiCare LifeCenter Fitness is a wonderful addition to Tropicana and features a two story and 12,455-square feet state-of-the-art complex that offers the latest in fitness equipment, classes, programming and amenities,” asserts Ziereis.
This modern, dual-level fitness center includes the latest in cardio and weight training equipment, as well as three rooms for health and wellness classes, and group fitness programs, including, but not limited to, group cycling, Zumba®, Yoga, Tai Chi and other strength training, aerobic and mind-body classes. The fitness center’s staff is comprised of certified fitness professionals and customer service representatives. Executive locker rooms include saunas and showers. Guests and members have access to the use of towels, wash clothes, and toi- letries.
“One of the top spas in Atlantic City, bluemercury, is located right here in The Quarter at Tropicana,” says Ziereis. “Today, bluemercury is widely recog- nized as the nation’s fastest-growing beauty products and spa retail chain. Clients receive unparalleled technical product knowledge, expert advice, and friendly service. In addition to offering guests skincare treatments, bluemer- cury’s skilled therapists also perform the brand’s world-renowned oxygen
facials, therapeutic couples massage, and a special selection of signature luxury body treatments.”
Luxe Salon is a modern, high-concept salon delivering an exceptional expe- rience and outstanding results for men and women. Located right off the hotel lobby, Luxe offers a full menu of salon services led by a team of stylists, aes- theticians and technicians. Enjoy on- trend hair design and styling, texturiz- ing treatments, blow-outs, restorative hair treatments and color services. Luxe also offers nail care, body waxing and grooming services.
"It is important to include everyone in activities,” observes Ziereis. “Some are going to be naturally outgoing and embrace the team building, whereas others may find it more uncomfort- able."
He further notes, however, that cowork- ers learn to trust one another and build off of each other’s strengths by participating in such activities. “Management can see how each work- er performs during team building activities, which can be very valuable."
"Many times, there is a CSR (corporate social responsibility) tie-in with the group activity. We had one group con- struct a miniature golf course. The group was split into 18 separate groups (one per hole) and they would ‘earn’ non-perishable food items by correctly answering a series of questions. These would be used as obstacles in building their Miniature Golf Course Hole, then each team would play the entire course and compete for prizes," Ziereis explains.
"Tropicana Atlantic City is convenient- ly located on the beach and board- walk of Atlantic City,” he concludes, “so the scenery is amazing and also lends itself to an ‘escape.’”
Tropicana also is home to 24 restau- rants, 25 shops, 17 bars and lounges, two swimming pools, an IMAX theater
