The Waterfront Conference Center at Harrah’s in Atlantic City, NJ
A Conference Center at a Casino? You Bet!
Caesars Entertainment offers three properties (all of which are home to meeting and event spaces) in Atlantic City, NJ, but its crown jewel for meet- ings is the Waterfront Conference Center at Harrah’s Atlantic City.
Steve Van Der Molen, vice president, catering and convention services for Caesars Entertainment in Atlantic City, notes that the Waterfront Conference Center offers planners everything they need, and all “under one roof - meeting space, hotel rooms, retail, restaurants, and entertainment. So much to see and do!”
“They have access to a number of din- ing options and special venues,” he adds. “The theater can be utilized for general sessions; a welcome reception or closing ceremony can be held at The Pool. We have a team of dedicated convention managers who are CMP certified and available to assist with any and every need.”

“The Waterfront Conference Center at Harrah’s is truly very unique,” Van Der Molen continues. “It is home to 100,000- square feet of meeting space and is the largest combined hotel and confer- ence center facility between Baltimore and Boston.”
Its two 50,000-square foot pillar-less ballrooms each can be subdivided into as many as 30 individual spaces, mean- ing that when both are being utilized, as many as 60 separate spaces can be created between them. This presents tremendous flexibility for the planner, as a wide range of combinations and configurations can be arranged - two function rooms, four rooms, six, twelve - to satisfy the exact needs of the plan- ner for their event.
“We offer a banquet kitchen that is dedicated for use by the meeting and conference space,” asserts Van Der Molen. “Our banquet chef and staff are exceptional. They have the capacity to produce high quality at a high volume. For example, as part of one recent event, they were able to serve 16,000 meals over a period of only 48-hours.”
Sustainability also is important at Harrah’s. The property grows herbs on its rooftop garden and uses them for catered meals. Van Der Molen says they also obtain fresh produce from farms in New Jersey, and seafood is sourced from close by, as well.
“We can meet the planners needs and accommodate any changes,” he asserts. “We can adjust and reconfigure spaces; whatever the planner needs for their event, we can make it happen! For audio-visual needs, Encore Event Technology works closely with us to deliver a great, cohesive presentation and experience.”
When it comes to down time, opportu- nities to relax and unwind are another big part of what makes this waterfront resort special. “Our new fitness center opened earlier this year,” explains Van Der Molen. “It offers the latest equip- ment, and there’s even an app that can be downloaded, which connects to the machines to help guests to keep track of and plan workouts. There also is a walking trail that spans three or four miles around the property and along
