The Bethesda/Chevy Chase area is filled with dining options and meeting venues. The National 4-H Conference Center is situated on 12 acres in the upscale neighborhood of Chevy Chase. The center helps support 4-H youth develop- ment by providing funding and resources to millions of youth around the world. It has hotel rooms for over 800 guests, flexible meeting space and a café with an all-you-can-eat dining buffet.
Properties offering meeting space in Bethesda include the Hyatt Bethesda and Doubletree Bethesda. The Bethesda Marriott, with 407 guest rooms, was completely renovated in 2015 and now offers new check-in technology, plus updated common spaces and guest rooms. The hotel has 18,500-square feet of function space consisting of 27 meeting rooms.
The Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center houses the largest ballroom in Montgomery County. The conference center boasts 50,000-square feet of high-tech event space and is conveniently located across the street from the White Flint Metro Station just steps away from Pike & Rose.
In downtown Silver Spring, the American Film Institute Silver Theatre and Cultural Center host meetings year-round. The Silver I theatre offers 400 seats with THX certification and 16mm, 35mm and 70mm projections. Silver II theatre is a 200-seat stadium seating screening room with 16mm and 35mm film projec- tion and a 40-foot stage perfect for pre- sentations. Silver III theatre offers 75 seats, 16mm and 35mm multi-format digital projection and a 30-foot screen. This theatre is perfect for board meet-
ings in need of on-screen computer pre- sentations.
The Silver Spring Civic Building at Veteran’s Plaza is the hub of the down- town area and a premier event facility just minutes from the nation’s capital. The civic building provides space for corporate events, private parties, meet- ings and receptions. Just outside its front door is Veterans Plaza, an outdoor space with year-round activities such as concerts, festivals and other live enter- tainment.
