CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION (TV & FILM) BTEC Certificate/Extended Diploma


Careers in film and media industries are very sought after and this study programme will give you the competitive advantage that you need to succeed. You will study film, television and media production across a range of genres. We have excellent facilities which include a comprehensive range of professional equipment as well as a dedicated Mac editing suite with Final Cut editing software.


Work with specialised, industry-standard equipment and present a finished video production


These practical, industry-related qualifications offer knowledge and skills in all aspects of media production. You will develop aptitudes in screenwriting, pre-production, pitching and presenting, directing, interviewing, camerawork, lighting, sound recording, animating, and audio and visual editing. Throughout your study programme, you will think as an entrepreneur and research, budget, communicate, project manage and work in teams.


Initially, in Year one, you will study for the Certificate which is equivalent to one AS Level. The Extended Diploma course is equivalent to one A Level and is completed in the second year of study.

Progression The transferable, technical and practical skills gained will be relevant to all areas of creative arts and will prepare you for both Higher Education and the world of work. You could progress to Higher Education in a media-related subject or gain entry into the industry at junior level. At the end of the course, you will have knowledge and skills to enable you to build a career in hundreds of different jobs in the film, television and media industries.
