Male Rugby Academy
Our Rugby Academy is headed up by South West coach, Pat Mcmanus, and we will be competing in the Association of Colleges (AoC) league. We will also participate in the AoC Cup and Plate competitions as well as various 7s and 10s competitions. We will also be looking to enter our ladies’ team into various tournaments that are offered by AoC.
Training takes place on a Monday afternoon and matches take place on a Wednesday afternoon; these will both be worked into your college timetable. You will receive weekly strength and conditioning sessions and termly nutritional and psychology workshops as well as top drawer coaching.
Basketball Academy
The Basketball Academy has had a good first season competing in the South league of the Association of Colleges (AoC) competition and also the AoC Cup, fulfilling all their fixtures. We will look to build on this in the future. Training will take place on a Monday afternoon with fixtures on a Wednesday; these will be worked into your timetable so as not to disrupt your studies. You will receive weekly strength and conditioning sessions and termly nutritional and psychology workshops.
Other Sports
Can’t see your favourite sport listed above? Don’t worry, we also compete at plenty of individualised sports and we support students who compete at high level too.
At AoC level, we offer opportunities to compete at swimming, cross country, badminton and table tennis, among others. We also have students who compete at high levels of sport who we offer as much support to as possible; these sports include surf life saving, shooting, gymnastics and power lifting. Whatever your chosen sport we will try our best to support you.
Sports open event
We will be holding a sports open evening in 2017, where interested students can come in and meet the team and coaches and find out all about their chosen Academies. Look out for details on our website, or contact Jason Fern for more information.
