73 KTR Stop-Block-Turn systems for main propeller shaſts
KTR Benelux will show a system to stop, block and/or turn the main propeller shaſt. You can choose one, two or three functions in your system. The stopping and locking functions can be operated electromechani- cally, by hydraulic pressure or manually.
The turning function is manually not avail- able. The brakes are normally operated by spring discs and are fail safe. There is also an active, self-locking version in which the brake is closed and opened electro mechanically, but when closed it doesn’t need any power to keep it closed.
The KTR SBT-systems come with an one- or two-piece brake disc with a diameter up to 1.500 mm. In combination with a clamping force of up to 542 KN, a braking torque of 350 kNm and a blocking torque of 800 kNm can be achieved . The maximum turning torque is 85 kNm. Special versions with multiple brakes are on request.
The system is provided with redundant safe- ty limit switches to monitor the brake func- tion, brake pad wear, position of the locking pin and engagement of the turning device. All functions can be controlled and monitored lo- cally or on the bridge.
You can see the system on booth 1225 or visit
