Juvenile News Fé16 B1 East Football League On a bitterly cold Tues-

day evening we welcomed Castlelyons to Killeagh to play our second game of this competition. Our first game saw us secure maximum league

points

when we played Killara so it was important to win this game to hold our po- sition on the league table. We were first to score with a lovely point off the boot of Oisin, however even though we had the major- ity of possession we failed to convert this to scores. Unfortunately for our lads our opponents, with very little ball managed to score 2-02. Before the half time whistle blew we did halt the advance of our oppo- nents and put three more points on the board, two from Oisin and one from Dara. Referee Pa Beau- sang blew the whistle on a very frustrating half for both the Killeagh players and mentors alike. Some plain talking at half time from the mentors saw our

boys take to the pitch with renewed determination. Once again Oisin opened our scoring with another fine point. This was the proverbial game of two halves... we outscored Cas- tlelyons with an impressive 1-14 to a solitary point for the entire second half. The transformation in the boys was unbelievable and we were kicking some fantas- tic points. Well done to Cian on his expertly taken kick on goal which saw the Castlelyons goalie picking the ball from the back of the net. With the

Killeagh GAA

Golf Classic comes of age this year, with our 21st Annual Golf Classic. Our 2016 Classic was another great success thanks to all those who contributed so generously, both golfers and sponsors, and we were blessed with good weath- er also! The funds raised are absolutely essential to keep our club’s finances in good health, and to fi- nance the loans we have incurred in developing our excellent facilities in Páirc Uí Chinnéide. 2017 will see further develop- ment of our facilities and continued commitment to our ongoing work with our teams and our com- munity. This year’s Golf Classic will take

in West Waterford Golf Club on Thursday July 13th

, Friday July 14th Saturday July 15th and . Please

contact our Golf Classic Chairman, Ray Rochford on 0872330054 to see how you can help this year.
