Adult (310) Senior Hurling League:

Carrigtwohill 2-14 St. Fin- barrs 1-20 in Togher on April 18th Despite succumbing to a 3 point loss against the Barrs, Carrig played very well and were unlucky not to be ahead at the final whistle. The opening half saw Sean Rohan put over Carrig’s first two points in the opening 10 minutes be- fore adding a goal. A cou- ple

points, 4 Tomás Hogan frees and a Brendan Mc- Carthy strike saw the half end 1-9 to 1-11.Brendan McCarthy sent over a point after the restart and Tomás Hogan netted a fine goal af- ter picking the pocket of the covering centre-back with a flick and finishing neatly. With the game tightening up Sean Rohan scored an- other 3 points and Hogan put over a placed ball but it wasn’t enough to overcome a late Barrs flurry of points. Team: Shane

Coachford for their sec- ond league outing of the year and played some great hurling in the first half with some

lovely scores from

Overall it maintains a positive start to the year for our minors who have played 5 chal- lenge games and 2 league games so far. Panel: Ryan O’Dono-

Juvenile (353) A busy April has seen the club begin training with

the Fe 6 and Fe 7 group on Saturday morning (hurling) and Wednesday evening (football). The Fe 8 group played particularly well in a hurling and football blitz this month and continue to enjoy their weekly training sessions. Saturday the 11th April was a fantastic day for the club with all teams from the Fe 9 group up to the Fe 16 group claiming victories. This was a great achievement and was cou- pled with a huge turnout for the first morning of training for the Fe6/7 group. The Fe 11 group won their first two hurling league games against

Erin’s Own and

Whitechurch. The Fe 12 group have been very ac- tive

this month, gaining

victories over Valley Rov- ers, Newtownshandrum and Sarsfields in Premier 1 hurling. Our Fe 13s also had a great win in their Pre- mier 2 hurling game against Courcey Rovers. A Fe 14 group emerged victorious over Carrigaline in Pre- mier 2 hurling group. On April 21st

our Fe 15 group

won their opening champi- onship fixture 4-17 to 1-4 against Erins Own in Riv- erstown. We wish them the best against Fermoy in the semi-final of the Premier 2A hurling championship in the coming week. The Fe

16 group had a busy month also with a victory over Douglas and a hard fought draw with a good Aghab- ullogue group in West End. Well done to all mentors and players on their con- tribution in making April a great month for the club. New members are always welcome and you can visit www.carrigtwohillgaa. com/juvenile-club/ for the relevant age group contact details. April also saw the club

host its annual Easter Camp and with a turnout of ap- proximately 60 kids over the two days, great fun was had. A word of thanks must go to Padraic Hogan and his innumerable

assistants for

running the camp. Congratulations to Car-

rigtwohill minor Aaron Walsh Barry who lined out for the Cork U17 hurlers who defeated Waterford in the Munster final in Dun- garvan on April 25th done

. Well to Aaron and his

teammates from all at Car- rigtwohill Adult and Juve- nile Club.

accompanied by performances.

The U14s and U16s have finished their leagues games and both teams gave a great account of themselves. The U14s train on Thursday nights from 7pm to 8pm and the U16s train on Fri- day nights. We have played two games so far in the mi- nor non-exam league. Our U21s bowed out of the Cork County at the quarter final stage against Naomh Abán. Injuries to the players made our task harder but the team put in a great performance on the night. Congratula- tions to Ciara Brennan who was a member of the Cork Ladies Minor football pan- el that defeated Kerry in the Munster final on Mon- day. The U12s are managed by Peter Barry and Bryan O’Flynn with help from Rosie Lane and Catherine Desmond. With our numbers increas- ing at

the first time in a number of years we were in a position to enter an U14 Team into the County Féile Compe- tition in Ballincollig on the 22nd

April. Killeagh were

up first in a fantastic game of Camogie where the final few minutes saw Killeagh edge ahead for the win. Up next were Ballincollig who proved to be a very strong opponent and were out to prove a point having just lost out in the Feile final last year. Our 3rd against

match was Castlemartyr and the older ages, we

are delighted to be able to field an U14 team this year under the care of Lorraine O’Connell, Val Cotter and Philip Dorgan. Congratulations: Ciara

Walsh and Aisling Sexton from our U14 panel have been chosen for the U13 Imokilly panel. Well done girls and best of luck in your blitz on the June weekend. Matches and Blitzes: Our

U12 girls had a busy month taking part in 3 Blitzes which is required before their Go Games League starts mid-May. They were happy to be chosen for the Camán to Munster in Mal- low April 1st

and travelled to

Watergrasshill on the 15th with their final blitz in Car- rigtwohill on the 22nd

. For

from the start some lovely hand passing, better com- munication and shots on target kept the Carrig girls ahead for the entire match. Best Wishes: Best wishes

to the girls and boys from the Carrigtwohill Nation- al schools who will receive their First Holy Commun- ion on the 12th

May. We

hope you and your families have a lovely day. Calling
