62 East Cork Aghada Camogie Club
Fixture: U16A League Match Teams: Aghada V Char-
leville Venue: Rostellan Pitch Date: Wednesday 19th
April 2017 The Play: On Wednesday April Charleville came
19th
to play in Rostellan in U16A league fixture. It was 2 years ago when Charleville came to play Aghada in U14A league game and Charlev- ille won the game with ease. Over the last 2 years the Aghada girls have been hurl- ing 11 months of the year to improve their game and be competitive at the top level
in cork club camogie. This game was going to be a good indicator on how the club is progressing. From the start the game was played at a hectic pace. Aghada scored the first point after 4 min- utes and this was followed by a pointed free. Charlev- ille scored 2 points of their own to draw the game. Half way through the first half there was 2 lapses in the Aghada defence and Char- leville scored 2 goals. Points were traded by both teams heading towards half time. Half time score Charleville 2-03 to Agahda 0-04 . The first half was an extremely tough game but it was noth- ing compared to the second half as both defences got on
top. There was only a point scored by both teams in the second as noboby was given the room for a clear shot. Fi- nal score Charleville 2-04 to Aghada 0-05. Aghada men- tors were very happy with the result as they felt there is further improvement in the team. Team: R O’Callaghan ,

with the pitch in immalcu- late condition Aghabollogue came to play minor B camo- gie league game. This was Aghada second match at this grade. Aghabollogue were undefeated in all their league matches to date. On the day we only have 4 girls on the age and the U16 panel were making up the balance of the team. It was a very open fast game with numer- ous chances for both teams. Aghada started the game in fine style and scored 2 goals in the opening 10 minutes. Aghabollogue adjusted their defence and came more into the game. The half time score was Aghada 2-04 to
Aaron Stafford dominating midfield, it gave a platform where all 6 forwards reg- istered on the scoreboard. Will Leahy finished with an- other big haul of 11 points. A third goal from Kevin O’Hanlon helped Aghada run out very comfortable winners by 16 points. Aghada team and scor-
ers – Trevor O’Keeffe, Jake O’Donoghue, John O’Con- nor, Tim Hartnett, Jordan Tynan, Jack McDonald, Billy Hennessy, Aaron Staf- ford, Stephen O’Keeffe, Pearse O’Neill (1-1), Will Leahy(0-11),

Aghada played U12 Blitz in Killeagh on Satur-
Junior Hurling League Division 3 – Aghada 0-25 v Cobh 3-14 ; 28/4/2016. Our JB hurlers got their
2017 season off to an im- pressive start hitting a mas- sive 25 points over in Cobh last Friday night. Again this was a game where the re- sult was never in any doubt as Aghada led from start to finish and had a comprehen- sive half time lead on a 0-17 v 0-4 scoreline. The home side did improve significant- ly after the break and hit 3 goals in the second half to make it a somewhat nervous end to the game. However the goals came much too late to affect the final result and Aghada left with the 3 points on offer. Charlie Ter- ry with 7 points and Daniel Creedon with 6, had the
day 29th April. Teams from
Carrigtwohill, Midleton also participated. We had anoth- er great turn out with 20 players making the trip (big thanks to all the parents for making the effort). Aghada games were very compet- itive, all the girls got stuck in and plenty of smiles all around. Big thanks to Kil- leagh for arranging the Blitz and refreshments for the girls afterwards. Training contin- ues on Wed evening at 6:45.
