NOTICE OF PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF DRAFT LOCAL AREA PLANS


Notice is hereby given, pursuant to Section 20(3)(e) of the Planning and Development Act, 2000 (as amended), that Cork County Council, being the Planning Authority for the County, has prepared a Proposed Amendment of the Draft Local Area Plans for each Municipal District in the County; (Bandon/Kinsale; Ballincollig/Carrigaline; Blarney/Macroom; Cobh; East Cork; Fermoy; Kanturk/Mallow; West Cork).


Strategic Environmental Assessment, Strategic Flood Risk Assessment, and Habitats Directive Screening Assessment of the Proposed Amendment of the Draft Local Area Plans have also been carried out.


Each Proposed Amendment consists of 3 Volumes set out as follows and are available in the formats listed in the table below:


• Volume 1: Proposed Amendment of the Main Policy Material (including small-scale policy maps)


• Volume 2: Environmental Reports (which includes the SEA Environmental Assessment Report, Strategic Flood Risk Assessment Report, and Habitats Directive Screening Report)


• Volume 3: Proposed Amendment of Draft Local Area Plan Map Browser (large-scale detail local area plan policy map versions of all the small-scale maps in Volume 1).

this Sunday, 7 of May held in aid of Ballincurrig Na- tional School Hall Fundrais- ing Committee. The concert is the first major fundraiser of 2017 for the Ballincurrig NS Hall Fundraising Committee and will star Finbar Wright, one of Ireland’s best loved romantic singers, as he per- forms at an intimate gig held at St Mary’s Church, Car- rigtwohill. The


concert begins at


8pm and tickets are priced at €30 with proceeds going towards Ballincurrig Na- tional School to construct a much-needed school hall. The Ballincurrig NS Hall Fundraising Committee have been fundraising for over a year to build a hall for the national school and were delighted to have Mr Wright, a classically trained tenor, on board for this fundraiser especially as it is a

more intimate venue than he usually frequents. Finbar Wright, who is


from Cork, had seven al- bums attain gold or plati- num status, with two albums Because and Whatever You Believe reaching the top of the Irish Charts. Mr Wright is also part of the Irish Ten- ors, a singing trio which since 1998 has recorded eight al- bums and three specials on PBS television in the United States, while individually he was twice named ‘Male En- tertainer of the Year’ by the Irish Recorded Music Asso- ciation and awarded the title of ‘Singer of

It should be noted that these new Local Area Plans do not include the former Town Councils’ functional areas and will not replace the nine Town Development Plans adopted by the former Town Councils of Cobh, Clonakilty, Fermoy, Kinsale, Macroom, Mallow, Midleton, Skibbereen and Youghal. The current Town Plans will continue to be effective until December 2020.


Submissions or observations on the Proposed Amendment (including the Environmental Reports) are invited from members of the public and other interested parties. Children, or groups or associations representing the interests of children, are entitled to make submissions or observations on the Proposed Amendment.


Cork County Council has provided a system whereby submissions with associated attachments can be made online by the public and interested parties through www.corkcoco.ie or


Submissions may be made in writing to: The Senior Planner, Cork County Council, Planning Policy Unit, Floor 13, County Hall, Cork.


The County Council regrets that submissions made by email cannot be accepted due to technical difficulties.


Submissions or observations with respect to the Proposed Amendment, made either online or in writing, and received by the Planning Authority within the period Tuesday, 2nd May 2017 to 4.00pm on Tuesday, 30th May 2017 will be taken into consideration before the making of the eight Municipal District Local Area Plans.
