East Cork Basketball Basketball Ireland Players and Coaches of the Month for November announced
Templeogue’s Lorcan
Murphy has won his sec- ond Player of the Month award this season, as he has scooped the Men’s Super League Player of the Month title
for the
second month in a row. The talented player has
continued to impress for the table toppers, includ- ing fantastic performanc- es throughout the month of November, most no- tably when he netted a whopping 34 points against Radisson Blu UL Eagles. Head Coach of Griffith
Swords Thunder, Dave Baker, has been awarded the Men’s Super League Coach of the
Month
award after he led his side to an unbeaten run for the month of November. He will be hoping to con- tinue that winning streak
this evening (Wednes- day), when his side faces off against an unbeat- en Templeogue in the quarter-final of the Hula Hoops National Cup at 8pm in the National Bas- ketball Arena. Meanwhile
it’s also
back-to-back wins for Ambassador UCC Glan- mire’s Head Coach Mark Scannell, as his side con- tinued an unbeaten run at the top of the League for a second month in a row. His Glanmire charg- es have also booked their spot in the Cup semi-fi- nals in January, and are proving to be a force to be reckoned with once more. Staying with Glanmire,
and the Women’s Super League
Player of the
Month award has been scooped by Claire Rock- all. Rockall has proven to
be a vital cog in the Gl- anmire machine, and is regularly listed on the top scorers for their games. She will undoubtedly be one of their key players this weekend when Glan- mire take on Pyrobel Kil- lester at home at 3pm on Saturday afternoon. Elsewhere, an unbeat- en run throughout
the
month of November in the Men’s Division One League has secured the Coach of the
Month
award for James Weldon of Keane’s SuperValu Killorglin. His
charges
have yet to be beaten in the League following sev- en games and are now the only unbeaten team in the Division. They re- turn to League action this weekend when they face Fr Mathews in Cork on Saturday.
Meanwhile EJ Sligo
All-Stars player Kaylim Noel has scooped the Men’s Division One Play- er of the Month title fol- lowing hugely impressive displays so far this season and will be a core part of Head Coach Shane O’Meara’s tactics ahead of their much-anticipated clash with LYIT Donegal this Saturday evening. In the Women’s Divi- sion One, Martin Conroy of ITC Basketball has been awarded the Coach of the Month for the Di- vision as his team contin- ued to dominate in No- vember and are now the only unbeaten team in their League. UL Huskies star player Sarah Bened- etti meanwhile has been awarded the Player of the Month award for the Women’s Division One.
