Cheque and Painting Presented to Youghal Community Hospital and Hospice FITZGERALD

a fundraiser each


year for local charities. This year, the nominat- ed charity was Youghal Community Hospital and Hospice and their Coffee and Cake morning was held on Thursday last. The fantastic amount of


€606 was raised, which was presented to Winnie Pedder, deputising for Matron Anne O’Dwyer, who expressed sincere thanks to the students and friends and assured that the cheque will be put to


good use by the residents of the hospital, providing comfort and extra facili- ties for them. Following the

hand over, another pres- entation was made to the Youghal Hospital and


Hospice when one of the students, Trevor O’Shea, donated a magnificent painting which he had completed especially for the Hospital. Speaking with The East Cork Journal Trevor said “My


mam, Helena Carey, was in Youghal Hospital and all the staff were so kind to her. She was very hap- py there, so I just want to show my appreciation for their great care of her”. A delighted Winnie
