New Laser Tool covers all angles Laser Tools has intro-

duced a new digital incli- nometer, a digital angle gauge or digital protrac- tor that offers exceptional measurement accuracy. In modern motor vehi-

cles accurate angle meas- urement is becoming more and more important, with engine

and suspension

components needing to be set up and maintained us- ing accurate angle measur-

ing instruments. This new digital inclinometer from Laser Tools (part number 6657) is a digital angle gauge with an accuracy level of ±0.2º. Equipped with a built- in magnet in the base, the 6657 is designed for meas- uring angles on metal and other surfaces, and is ideal for engine setting up (for example on Citroen/Peu- geot variable valve timing

setting and checking where an OEM special tool would be used), or for use as a dig- ital camber/caster gauge when used in conjunction with the Gunson 77137 Trakrite Camber Bar. Other uses include set-

ting bumper mounted ra- dar units used in vehicle collision avoidance and parking assist systems, lev- el checks on vehicle body alignment equipment dur-

ing crash repair and angle checks for comparison and setting on any flat surface. Very easy to use, sym- bols display the direction a surface must be adjusted to achieve horizontal lev- el. The device is powered by a 1.5V AAA battery, and shuts off automati- cally after five minutes of no movement.

It is sup-

plied with a useful storage pouch.

A Donegal-based road rehabilitating danger-

Run by Gary Doggett and supported by Judge Paul Kelly and Garda Inspector Michael Harri- son, the Pro-Social Driv- ers Programme is a driver rehabilitation programme which was established in 2012 to address the high instances of anti-social driving in Co Donegal. The programme con-

sists of four modules — Emotional Control, Social Responsibility, Driving Under the Influ- ence and Consequenc-

es. Referrals to the pro- gramme come from the Courts Service, the pro- bation service,

solicitors,

concerned parents and individuals who recognise the need for training in this area. To date, 18 pro- grammes have been com- pleted with a total of 180 participants. A total of 37 individ- uals and organisations were honoured for their commitment and dedica- tion to road safety at the ninth annual ‘Leading Lights in Road Safety’ Awards which were pre- sented by RSA Chair- person Liz O’Donnell and RSA Chief Execu- tive Moyagh Murdock in Farmleigh today. self-driving autonomous car, writes Brian Byrne. The

survey commis-

testing autonomous cars on European roads next year, and is planning to provide autonomous ve- hicle ride-sharing service in the US in 2021. Ford has committed
