Sound House Pro worked with ISK Transexpo to deliver the public address audio solution. Transexpo had been implemented to manage all of the IT, digital media, video display systems, public address and evacuation management system and video surveillance, as well as fire alarm and extinguishing systems, security and access control solutions. For Sound House Pro, the Olimpiysky Stadium represented several different things - a debut, an education and a success story. It is the first stadium that the company has installed, which meant that its existing skills were applied to an unfamiliar environment. Although this was a challenge, it provided valuable knowledge that was taken forward to Municipal Stadium Lviv - the second tender that the company won. It represents success, because this was, in fact, the third tender that Sound House Pro had answered. The company had previously submitted proposals for Donbass Arena in Donetsk, which will be used during the tournament, and for Dnipro Arena in Dnepropetrovsk, which was in the running to be involved but fell short of the necessary minimum 33,000 seats. Garkaviy explained that these unsuccessful bids provided a valuable learning experience: “We entered the tender process for those two stadia, but unfortunately we did not win them. It was a very good
lesson for us.” Garkaviy and his team worked closely with EVI Audio. Director of EVI Audio’s Technical Support, Oliver Sahm, revealed that the route to their Euro 2012 destination was also not altogether straightforward. “For the specific projects here in Ukraine, we have been involved at the very beginning of these projects via German consultants. For Lviv, it was for a first budget estimation, where they wanted to have a technical concept. For Kiev, it was also via a German consultant, who asked us for some support on the sound system. And he was responsible later on for the mechanical elements in the roof; loads, hanging points, speakers - how many and where. Via these channels we were able to bring an idea with an Electro Voice solution, from a very early stage, three years ago, into the project process.” Naturally, in that time, new products have been developed and brought to market. Sahm explained: “The EV product family has changed in the last three years. It has been expanded and improved. EV started its EV Innovation Series programme about three years ago. This programme is the dedicated loudspeaker engineering programme for fixed install loudspeakers. “Bill Gelow and his team, and the Product Manager Guillermo Wabi have started to create a dedicated installation programme, with
