VOICE OF HOLLAND
Company: LedGo Location: Hilversum, The Netherlands
LedGo was founded in 2008 to meet the demand of rentable LED video walls and floors for productions. Developing its own products is the central element. Hans de Vet is LedGo’s technical design genius and the main motivator of the innovations. He lives and breathes LED. New adjustments and LED products are designed by using the input of specialists who work with it on a daily basis. Innovation is also one of the pillars from which LedGo operates, because of innovation the company is better equipped to serve the market, as it knows from experience (sister com- pany PiVOT) what the LED video sector is about and the possibilities LED video products have to offer. In 2011, it started the process of adding a sales channel to LedGo in order to sell the products the company developes to a worldwide audience. To meet the demand for affordable, lightweight video panels with high resolution, LedGo developed the EQ-HR line. The EQ-HR line is an affordable product that doesn’t sacrifice quality, as well as meeting the strict demands of the UL and ETL regulations for worldwide usage. A spokesperson for the company said: “The LED components are made in various factories in China. China is far advanced when it comes to LED technique, but it does not have the creativity of design and engineering we do. Also, the necessary safety approvals are normally left out. LedGo takes these parts particularly serious and designs with much creativity and knowledge of the market. Combine the Chi- nese knowledge of electronics with the strict German regulations, the Dutch design and creativity, and behold the result LedGo represents. “A very nice example of innovation is our interactive LED floor. At a certain time we had the feeling that there must be more to LED panels then just showing moving graphics, something more interactive, more possibilities to create effects, more fun

and then the idea of a interactive LED floor was born! After being developed on the table, creating prototypes in Holland, we produced the interactive floor ourselves and we showed it the first time in a new format. The Goose game is a blown up board game where real people walk over the board.” In the Voice Of Holland, the integration of the look and feel of the song and the special effects created by walking over the interactive floor, gave something extra to the show that wasn’t there before. Specially developed interactive sensors react on the people who are walking on the floor by measuring their weight. The graphic server converts this data into astonishing and great visual effects. “We also use this data for games and be more interactive with the people. This is just the start of more innovative LED products,” said the spokesperson. “The devel- opment of the floor gave us the drive to develop more interactive possibilities. After being successful with our first interactive LED floor, which we just rented out to test all the features through and through, we developed a new version called ‘The Black Spinel’, that will be released in the second half of this year. We wanted to be sure that we had an innovative, very robust and rock ‘n’ roll interactive LED product, which can be used for a lot of different kind of projects like stunning TV-shows, architecture, shopping malls and nightclubs. “The next step will be more interactivity in combination with moving graphics in a 3D environment. We showed a glimpse of that on our booth at the Prolight + Sound. You could experience 3D without the use of glasses and the result was shown on a normal LED screen. Pretty awesome! So just wait and see, we will sur- prise the LED world with more innovative solutions to create the next level of LED.”
