NORTHERN ARGENTINA
This is the land of the gaucho and the tango, cultures both vibrant and thriving. Argentina is a renowned wine producer, with many vineyards located close to Mendoza and Cordoba in the shadows of the Andes.
BUENOS AIRES, CITY OF TANGO Vibrant and engaging, with a rich European heritage, Argentina’s capital has long been regarded as the ‘Paris of South America.’ There is so much to occupy the visitor: tango shows (both formal and impromptu), sporting events, great shopping in Recoleta, splendid plazas and buildings, and world renowned restaurants.
MENDOZA
Located in the eastern foothills of the Argentinean Andes, Mendoza is famed for its olive oil and its vineyards. An ideal climate and perfect growing conditions has seen it become the largest wine producing region in Latin America, with over 800 wineries dotted along the aptly named ‘Wine Country Road’.
ESTANCIAS
An integral part of Argentine culture, estancias (ranches) helped to make Argentina one of the world’s major exporters of meat and grain. Steeped in gaucho culture, an estancia stay provides an ideal opportunity to experience the true spirit of the pampas.
