DAYS 1/2 – Fly to Yangon (Rangoon) Thai Airways fl ight from Heathrow to Yangon via Bangkok. Transfer to the Chatrium Hotel for 2 nights.
DAY 3 – Yangon Visit the Sule Pagoda and the markets of Rangoon’s old colonial quarter. Late afternoon visit to Shwe Dagon Pagoda to watch sunset.
DAY 4 – Mandalay
Fly to Mandalay and transfer to the Mandalay Hill Resort for 3 nights. Afternoon visit to Mahamyatmuni Pagoda, the most revered Buddha image in Mandalay. Marvel at the exquisite wood carvings of the Golden Teak Monastery before watching sunset from Mandalay Hill.
DAY 5 – Mandalay A full day tour of the ancient cities of Ava and Amarapura.
DAY 6 – Mandalay Free day with the option of visiting Maymyo, an old colonial hill station in the Shan Hills.
DAY 7 – Bagan
A full day cruise down the Irawaddy River on board the RV Yandabo. Lunch is served on board and a stop is made at Yandabo to see Burmese village life. Arrive into Bagan for 3 nights at Bagan Thiripyitsaya Sanctuary Resort, nestled on the banks of the Irawaddy.

One of the best beaches in the country, Ngapali lies along Myanmar’s western coast, about seven kilometres from Thandwe and just a short fl ight from Yangon. Sprinkled with fi shing villages and traditional markets, its white sands and clear waters provide the ideal spot for island boat trips, snorkelling and diving. 3 night extensions to the Ngapali Bayview Resort can be arranged from £550 per person.
Special Something BALLOONS OVER BAGAN
A unique opportunity to see the ancient temples of Bagan, described by Marco Polo as “one of the finest sights in the world”, from an entirely different perspective. Your flight will take place either early in the morning or an hour or so before sunset and is subject to stable weather conditions. MRAUK U & SITTWE EXTENSION A 3 night visit to Mrauk U & Sittwe to explore the Rakhine culture. DAY 9 – Bagan Free day, perhaps taking an optional visit to Mount Popa and Salay.
DAY 10 – Inle Lake
Fly to Heho in the Shan States and continue to Inle Lake for 2 nights at Inle Princess Resort. Afternoon visit to Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and Nga Phe Monastery, also known as the Jumping Cat Monastery.
DAY 11 – Inle Lake
Boat ride to local villages and markets. Explore Sagar Village and the Tha Khauk pagoda.
DAY 12 – Yangon
On the way back to Heho stop for lunch at Aye Thar Yar vineyard. Later fl y to Yangon for overnight at the Traders Hotel. Or upgrade to The Governor’s Residence.
DAYS 13/14 – Yangon Morning at leisure. Day use room at the hotel. Evening fl ight to Heathrow with Thai Airways via Bangkok.
