DAYS 1/2 – Moscow (Eastbound option) Fly with British Airways to Moscow. 1 night at Hotel Renaissance or similar. Experience a magical evening trip through the city, with a stop at Red Square. Enjoy a city tour on day 2 before your train journey begins. 5 nights onboard the Tsar’s Gold.
Ulaan Bataar, Mongolia The Great Wall of China
DAYS 3/4 – Kazan and Ekaterinburg Explore Kazan, the old Tartar capital on the banks of the Volga, before continuing to Ekaterinburg which sits on the border between Asia and Europe.
DAYS 5/6 – Across Siberia The train takes you through Eastern Siberia with its mountains, crystal- clear rivers and verdant slopes. Visit Novosibirsk, Siberia’s biggest city, as well as Krasnoyarsk, with its impressive riverside location along the Yenisei River.
DAY 7 – Irkutsk
City tour includes the lively market hall, followed by an open-air museum displaying past Siberian life. 1 night at Marriott Courtyard or similar.
DAY 8 – Lake Baikal Visit a Siberian village before taking a boat ride across the lake. Take in the lake and its wonderful scenery, before a picnic dinner on the shore (weather permitting). 2 nights onboard.
DAY 9 – Lake Baikal to Ulan Ude Continue along Lake Baikal through the Selenga valley. Take a guided city tour or stroll through the streets of Ulan Ude, before heading to Mongolia.

The train taking you on this fabulous journey is affectionately called Tsar’s Gold. Whilst on board sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery from your cabin or mingle with fellow travellers in one of the restaurant wagons, where you can enjoy fi ne local cuisine as the unique landscape rolls by.
WHAT TO EXPECT During your journey you’ll have plenty of time off the train, including hotel stays for 3 nights, to experience the culture and sights of the destinations you pass through. On board your knowledgeable guides will entertain you with talks about the local cultures and history of Russia, Mongolia & China.

ST. PETERSBURG Considered one of the world’s most beautiful cities, St Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great as his ‘Window on the West’. Built across a hundred islands in the Neva River Delta, the city can boast gourmet restaurants, high art and some of the finest architectural masterpieces anywhere in Russia.
DAYS 10/11 – Ulaan Baatar & Mongolia Arrive in the Mongolian capital Ulaan Bataar, for 1 night at Hotel Bayangol or choose to stay in a traditional Yurt in the beautiful Mongolian Alps. City tour including the Choijin Lama temple and Gandan Monastery. On day 11 visit the stunning rock formations of the Mongolian Alps. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a Yurt before the train continues onto China. 2 nights onboard.
DAY 12 – Through the Gobi Desert Your train halts in the middle of the Gobi Desert, allowing you to experience its vastness. After a change of trains, due to a different track gauge, you’ll continue onto Beijing as rural China rolls by.
DAYS 13 to 16 – Beijing Arrive in Beijing for 3 nights at Hotel Capital or similar. Explore Beijing including the Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, plus a fantastic day trip to the Great Wall of China. In the evening of day 15 enjoy a Chinese feast including the delicacy, Peking Duck. Fly with British Airways back to the UK.
