THE COFFEE REGION Travelling through the fertile valleys of the ‘Zona Cafetera’, you can observe endless coffee plantations and their colourfully painted wooden houses. This area has been recognised by UNESCO for its outstanding natural beauty and a visit to a coffee hacienda to see the production system in detail is well worth the effort.

CARTAGENA This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the colonial jewel of the Americas, founded in 1533 by the conqueror Don Pedro de Heredia. The cultural wealth resulting from the mix of races, its architectural beauty, the sea and the warm evening breeze make Cartagena one of the most fascinating towns in the Caribbean.

SAN AGUSTIN A UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Colombia’s most important archaeological reserves, San Agustin can trace its origins back some 5,000 years. Shrouded in mystery and carved from volcanic rock, these statues of gods and mythical animals represent the largest group of megalithic sculptures in South America.
