DAY 1 – Fly to Beijing Air China overnight fl ight from Heathrow to Beijing.
DAY 2 – Beijing Arrive for 3 nights at Beijing Prime Hotel. Explore the fascinating Hutongs of Old Peking by rickshaw followed by a dumpling making class. Dinner with a local family.
Shanghai
DAY 3 – Beijing In the morning, visit the glorious Temple of Heaven with the opportunity to take part in a Tai Chi lesson. Visit Tiananmen Square before taking in the Forbidden City.
DAY 4 – Beijing Explore the Great Wall of China at Mu Tian Yu. This evening there will be a traditional dinner of Peking Duck.
DAY 5 – Xi’an A morning visit to the UNESCO site of the Summer Palace on the tranquil waters of Kunming Lake. 2 nights at Shangri-La Golden Flower.
DAY 6 – Xi’an Visit Big Goose Pagoda, Bell Tower and the astonishing Army of Terracotta Warriors. Take a short walk on the city walls. In the evening enjoy a traditional dance performance and dinner.
Li River, Guilin
DAY 7 – Yangtze cruise Visit the Hang Yan Ling tombs before fl ying to Chongqing. Board the Century Star cruise ship for 3 nights.

DAY 8 – Yangtze cruise Cruising along the mighty Yangtze today admiring the extraordinary beauty that has been the inspiration of artists for centuries. Today there will be an excursion to Shibao Pagoda, a stunning karst cave that has only been discovered in recent years.
DAY 9 – Yangtze cruise Cruise further along the mighty Yangtze and admire the stunning ‘Three Gorges’. In the morning there is an optional tour to the White Emperor City at Baidi, a hill scattered with temples and gates clinging to grandiose cliffs. Shortly after, enter Qutang Gorge and later Wu Gorge, before taking an excursion through the Shennong Stream. Later enter Xiling Gorge, the last of the magnifi cent gorges. In the evening sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship lock.
DAYS 10/11 – Shanghai Visit the Three Gorges Dam site - the largest hydro-electric project in the world. Disembark in Yichang and fl y to Shanghai for 2 nights at the Sunrise on the Bund. Explore Old Shanghai and enjoy the renowned Shanghai Acrobat show.
DAY 12 – Guilin Morning at leisure. Fly to Guilin with its wonderful karst mountain scenery. In the evening there will be an option to see Guilin by night followed by a visit to the Li River to observe the famed cormorant fi shermen at work 2 nights at the Bravo Hotel.
DAY 13 – Guilin
Cruise down the Li River through wonderful karst scenery. Arrive at the small town of Yangshuo for a market visit.
DAYS 14/15 – Fly to the UK Morning trip out to the extraordinary geological formations of the Reed Flute Caves and the summit of Fupo Hill. This afternoon fl y to Hong Kong and connect with the Virgin Atlantic fl ight back to London.
