78 University of Bath International Foundation Year
The International Foundation Year (IFY) is a one year course that prepares students for entry onto their chosen University of Bath degree.* Students achieving the necessary grades will be guaranteed automatic entry into Year 1 of their degree.
The University of Bath has accredited four UK colleges to run the IFY. Each has been chosen for their excellent teaching and support for international students.
You can choose to take your Foundation Year at either:
City of Bath College (Bath) Chichester College (Sussex) Greenwich Community College (London) Wiltshire College (Salisbury)

Entry requirements You must be a student from outside the EU. You must have a high standard of qualification in your year 12 high school leaving certificate and the required standard of English language (see below).
Age All students must be 17 years or over at the start of the programme.
English Language Qualifications For students whose first language is not English, we require:
n a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 (with a minimum of 5 in each component) or equivalent in a recognised English Language Test
n or a TOEFL score of 520 (190 computer test, 68 internet-based) or a Cambridge ESOL (First Certificate pass at A).
Please note that these are minimum requirements.
All students must be able to meet the required standards of English for visa regulations. Students with IELTS score of 5.0 will be considered for the programme if their school certificate results are good; they will need to attend an intensive five week English programme immediately preceding the start of the Foundation Programme.
Attendance on the additional English language course is not a requirement for
