www.bath.ac.uk/study Tuition Fees
Tuition fees cover the costs of your academic education at Bath. They include core teaching costs, Students’ Union charges, registration and examination fees. Supplementary examinations and re-examination fees, field trips, books and non-core equipment are not included.
Relevant placement fees are charged during placement and study abroad years.
If we offer you a place, we will decide whether you are a UK/EU or overseas student for fees purposes. We will then be in a position to give you more detailed information on the costs of your programme of study.
UK and European Union Students
Although this prospectus is produced for the guidance of students who wish to enter the University in the 2012-13 academic year, the University is not in a position to publish its tuition fees/ graduate contributions for 2012-13 at the time of going to press. This is because the prospectus was printed in December 2010 and at that time the University was still awaiting further information from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and the Higher Education funding Council for England about the funding framework for the 2012-13 academic session.
Updated information will be available at:
www.bath.ac.uk/study/ug/finance
Overseas Students
If you are an overseas student, you will not be able to apply for UK Government funding. You must make sure you can cover all your living expenses for each year of study. We want to make sure that your studies are not unnecessarily disrupted, and may therefore ask you for advance written evidence that you, your family or sponsor can pay the tuition fees. You must ensure that you have sufficient resources to cover tuition as well as living expenses before you accept any offer we make to you.
University of Bath International Scholarships The University offers a small number of scholarships towards tuition fees for overseas fee paying undergraduates.

Scholarships and Bursaries
At the University of Bath we are committed to attracting the best and brightest students and encouraging them to benefit from everything that a Bath education has to offer, regardless of their financial circumstances. We are fortunate to be supported by a range of donors, including many university alumni, who share our pride in our students’ achievements.
Scholarships The criteria for scholarships vary, but generally, they are awarded to exceptional students in order to enable them to continue to excel whilst at the University of Bath and beyond. The scholarships allow them to overcome any financial or other barriers that may prevent them reaching their full potential, and benefiting from everything the University of Bath experience can offer.
In 2011 the University offered around 100 scholarships across all Faculties and Departments ranging from £1,000 to £3,000 pa.
University of Bath Bursary The Bath Bursary Scheme has generously assisted almost 4,000 UK students from lower income families since 2006, typically providing each student with up to £1,200 per year on top of their Government Student Support.
The Bath Bursary Scheme will be reviewed for 2012 entrants.

‘‘ I had been working as
a waitress since I was 15 to try and fund myself through university but it just wasn’t enough. Without my scholarship I would never had made it to university in the first place.
