Visual Arts Professional artists lead a number of weekly workshops and classes, ranging from print making and drawing to Photoshop and comic book art. Weekend workshops offer the chance to gain more intensive tuition in a range of skills.
ICIA organises a popular annual photography competition in association with Photosoc, the Students’ Union photography society.
ICIA has three exhibition spaces on campus. Venue Magazine said that ICIA’s galleries “...have in recent years hosted heaps of the country’s most engaged and relevant makers of art...” Work resulting from the artist in residence programme has included exhibitions by Deborah Robinson, Lucy Harrison and Margareta Kern. Discussion and debate on the relationship between visual arts and specific academic topics also takes place through symposia and talks organised by ICIA with leading arts professionals.
There are also mini-seasons of contemporary film.
