Employability of Bath Graduates Bath is well known for the success of its graduates in the employment market, even when the market is tough. We believe that the employability of our graduates is very important. Bath will help you develop your employability, identify your preferred career plan and achieve it.

Will I find a good job? 49% of employed Bath first degree graduates in 2009 were in professional jobs, compared with 26% nationally.


You can see from the charts that 81% of employed Bath first degree UK graduates had jobs in one of the top three classes – management, professional, and associate professional/technical, significantly outstripping the national figure of 62%.

The Careers Advisory Service The Careers Advisory Service aims to help you develop your employability skills, make the right career choice and achieve it. We run programmes for all students and advisers are available for career planning discussions.


Careers Advisory Service Programmes


n The Earlybird Programme helps you find good vacation work.


n The Development Programme provides transferable and personal skills training to develop employability skills. You can also improve your job search skills such as applications, interview techniques and aptitude testing.


n The Employer Events Programme is for finalists, and includes graduate vacancies on the website, and many employer events. You can look at: www.bath.ac.uk/careers/ springboard/jobs to see examples of our graduate opportunities.


Careers Advisory Service Employer Links Over 370 employer recruitment visits to the University in 2009-10.


The Careers Advisory Service has well-established direct links with many graduate employers, and arranges up to 400 employer recruitment visits to the University each year. We run a big programme of employer presentations in the autumn, and Careers Fairs in the autumn and summer, so students have easy access to employers.
