The nature of our programmes and the calibre of our graduates ensure that they enjoy a high success rate when in competition for employment in industry, teaching, the Research Councils and the Civil Service. Many students are employed initially in research and development areas with a high chemical content. Others find employment in allied areas such as marketing, administration, production and technical services. A small number of students use their degree as a basic qualifying level of attainment to enter fields such as accountancy and insurance. The programmes are also a sound preparation for proceeding to a higher degree in research before choosing a final career.

because of its strong reputation and after visiting I loved the campus. The Department has a very good induction programme which helped me settle in and choose options at the beginning. The staff members are so friendly and helpful, and it’s great to work in modern airy labs. It’s a really tight knit community in Bath, with a very wide range of students from all backgrounds and countries who get on and mix well. Bath itself is a beautiful city, with great places in the surrounding area to visit. In the end though I just love doing Chemistry at Bath!
