Programme details


Building on our long-standing strengths in teaching politics and history, this well- established programme combines international politics and contemporary 20th century history in an interdisciplinary approach. On this broad-based programme you will undertake a core module on the Transformation of Post- war Europe which analyses key themes in the shaping of contemporary Europe such as conflict and security, integration, and democratisation. You can then choose three modules from a range of areas including: British political history, European integration, international relations, security and terrorism.

Dissertation


Suitable for Graduates or professionals preparing for or already working in careers in teaching, journalism and government.


Career potential


On completion you can pursue a range of careers in teaching, the media, government service, or private industry. Some of our graduates choose to go on to further postgraduate study. The written presentation, oral communication and analytical skills developed by the programme are transferable to a wide variety of careers.


Regeneration and


International students can apply


Social Inclusion MA (one year full-time or three years part-time) PgDip (nine months full-time or one year, six months part-time) PgCert (four months full-time or nine months part-time)

This programme critically engages with the social context and implications of urban and cultural regeneration, with a keen focus on contemporary patterns of social inclusion and exclusion. It is designed to meet the needs of those currently working or seeking a career in regeneration, local and national government, policy, or charity sector organisations, as well as many professions beyond.

Suitable for
