Programme details
This programme covers core public health skills such as epidemiology, statistics and research methods as well as giving you the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of a range of topics including: lifestyle and health issues, health inequalities, policy and economics, international health care, environmental health and communicable diseases.
We will provide you with the core skills to effectively interpret and understand key areas of health research and how this can be used to inform and drive policy. We draw on the expertise and skills from a wide range of partnerships including public health practitioners and research staff from across the University, which means you’ll have access to the best in expertise to complement your studies.

Programme details
You will explore: • Interconnections between social policy, social justice and social welfare, at local, national, supranational and global levels
• Philosophical ideas underpinning social justice and political ideologies that inform the development of social policies
• Concepts of inequality/equality, social inclusion/exclusion, rights/responsibilities, and citizenship
• Globalisation and the development of a Global Social Policy within a social justice framework
You will be encouraged to be reflective in your learning and apply theories and knowledge to your own experience.
Social Policy modules are available on a stand-alone basis.
