Childcare We have an accredited nursery on campus run by Busy Bees Childcare, catering for children from three months to fi ve years old. Places must be booked in advance and are available either as one-off half day sessions or on a full-time basis. Student Life can offer advice on aspects of childcare to students with families.

Welcome 2011 During Welcome 2011 the Students’ Union and Student Life work together to offer a wide range of events for all students to help you settle in, meet new people and ask any questions you may have.
International Welcome The international strand of Welcome 2011 is designed specifi cally for international students. The programme provides information about culture, working and studying in the UK, and plenty of opportunities to meet new people.
Airport collection service When you’re ready to make your travel plans you will be able to book your transfer online. We will arrange to collect you from the airport terminal and bring you to the University, free of charge. This service is available at the key arrival times in September and January. During the busiest periods we have a team of Student Life hosts at the airport to meet you.

Students’ Union The Students’ Union acts as your voice at the University, campaigning for change to make a positive difference to students’ lives. When you start at the University you will automatically become a member of the Students’ Union with access to a range of services and facilities, from clubs and societies to an Advice Centre which offers free, independent and confi dential advice on areas like academic issues and fi nance.
Joining our postgraduate association is a great way to meet other postgraduates at one of the many social events and trips held throughout the year.

Library, ICT and learning facilities We want you to get the best from our library, learning and ICT resources. Before you arrive you’ll receive your login details, which means you can start using some services straight away. You’ll also have access to three library sites with 900 PC work stations and additional PC suites around campus. Two of our PC suites are open 24 hours a day and the Clifford Whitworth library is open Monday to Friday until midnight during term time and 24 hours a day during the examination period. There are print-based library resources, a huge collection of electronic databases and journals which are available both on and off campus.
