Programme details
In this programme theory, practice and issues are approached from an interdisciplinary perspective enabling students to gain a comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding. This is a highly focused degree, designed to make sure that the fundamental issues are covered, while also providing an adequate level of choice.

Dissertation
Suitable for Students who are interested in international politics as well as a more critical and interdisciplinary approach to global issues. It is also suitable for students who wish to broaden their critical knowledge of international affairs and globalisation at an advanced level, and we particularly seek students who are interested in multiple approaches to the discipline.
Career potential
Our students pursue a range of careers, which typically include teaching, working for an NGO or government agency, the media, writing and publishing, consultancy work and employment in the private sector. It is also an excellent foundation for further postgraduate study. The written presentation, oral communication and analytical skills developed by the programme are transferable to a wide variety of careers.

Programme details
This dynamic, interdisciplinary Masters programme offers you the opportunity to develop your critical ability and to analyse the literature and language of the modern period. You will focus on key areas of literary modernity, exploring the interactions between literature and theory. The interdisciplinary nature of the programme encourages and stimulates debate about a range of cultural, political and historical issues as well as enabling you to interrogate the relationships between literature and other cultural forms. You will be learning in a lively research environment and able to shape your own programme of study, particularly in the Research Methods and Dissertation modules.

Suitable for Graduates in the humanities who want either a broad-based Masters qualification or who are looking for a disciplined introduction to further study at PhD level.

Graduates of this programme have used it as part of their career development in areas as diverse as teaching, librarianship, media, publishing and the arts. Others use it as a means of access to PhD study or further research.
