Programme details


This programme aims to foster the advancement and originality of professional post production through the integration of highly developed specialist skills and detailed knowledge of production and post production.


In addition the programme will offer a range of self directed and team orientated industry briefs which will ensure that you gain an advanced and detailed understanding of creative processes, production workflow, and associated technical complexities required to achieve professional quality output within the area of contemporary post production.

This programme is intended for existing media practitioners. It is also particularly relevant for those individuals wishing to expand their media knowledge in the area of post production and current media practices.

Programme details


An aim of this programme is to allow students from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds to engage critically with various forms of social media. An emphasis is placed upon practice informed by theory which is achieved via a mix of innovative and diverse approaches to teaching and learning. A good deal of emphasis is place on trying out theory in ‘real-world’ environments. This programme provides a thorough, reflexive contextualisation of social media as related to other contemporary media, and those that have gone before.

• Practice based learning is possible via the Community Project, Individual Social Media Project and the Skills Workshops modules.

This programme is designed for creative social entrepreneurs, people who want to make a change to themselves and communities, deploying media for social good.


Career potential


Students will leave this programme equipped to work in a variety of institutions engaging with social media. This includes the traditional broadcasters who are gradually entering the field as well as new community and third sector organisations who need social media to work for them and their clients. Students of the programme now work with the organisations such as the BBC and Oracle.
