Programme details
This programme is a clinically based modular programme. Clinical skills will be developed in tertiary units and academic programmes taught. It aims to enhance the knowledge and skills essential for advanced practice in neonatal care, and is designed so that by the end, you will be able to work autonomously as a competent advanced neonatal practitioner within a multidisciplinary team.

This programme comprises a number of core and optional modules depending on the pathway you choose: • Neonatal Practice A (30 credits) • Neonatal Practice B (30 credits) • Contextualising Advanced Practice (30 credits)
• Research Methods (30 credits) • Dissertation (60 credits)
Suitable for
Neonatal nurses and midwives who wish to be trained to undertake the role of an advanced neonatal nurse practitioner. The aim is to enhance knowledge and skills essential for advanced practice in neonatal care.
Career potential
Past students have gone on to take up posts as midwifery managers, educationalists and consultant midwives. Others have continued their studies at PhD level, for example undertaking the Professional Doctorate offered at this University.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health

Programme details
This programme is run by specialist clinical and academic practitioners in the field of child and adolescent mental health. It is practice-led and will help you develop a comprehensive understanding of: • Child development, mental health and mental disorder, therapeutic intervention and the policy, legal, ethical and organisational frameworks that guide inter-professional practice in this area
• How to lead change within the workplace • The rights of the child and young person and the complexities of working in a practice situation
• Working with family and organisational systems

Suitable for
Registered practitioners or people working at equivalent level with children, young people, young adults and families, with a role in relation to their mental health or emotional wellbeing. This could be in CAMHS, education, social care, community sector or adult mental health services.
Career potential
This programme is nationally commissioned and mapped against the Key Skills Framework, national curriculum recommendations and specialist practitioner competency frameworks. With a focus on the application of learning to improve practice, it has led to a significant number of graduates gaining promotions or employment in a wide range of CAMHS and CAMHS-related services in health, education, community and social care sectors.
